Morrow, Ga. - The Lakers welcomed the Georgia College & State University Bobcats to The Loch Friday night and delivered a strong performance, resulting in a solid home victory.
From the opening tip, the Lakers brought energy on both ends, setting the tone with defensive pressure and active play in the paint. Early buckets and second-chance opportunities helped the Lakers build momentum, while disciplined defense forced tough possessions and turnovers that limited the Bobcat's rhythm. Tianna Dismuke and Jasmyn Burts made key contributions inside and on the boards, helping the Lakers establish control in the first half.
Half time Score: Lakers 28, Georgia College 16
Coming back after halftime, the Lakers tightened the reins even further. Defensive stops turned into transition chances, and consistent pressure inside kept Georgia College on its heels. Kyla Greene knocked down key shots from the perimeter, Paige McDonald contributed on both ends, and Nya Young added points in the paint to help maintain separation. The Bobcats looked to respond late, but the Lakers stayed composed, controlled the tempo, and closed the game out with confidence, securing their win.
Final Score: Lakers 61, Georgia College 32
