Morrow, Ga. – The Lakers welcomed the Flagler Saints to a matchup Tuesday evening, which resulted in a 57- 49 win for the Lakers.
From the opening tip, the Lakers set the tone with aggressive defense and confident shot making that kept the pressure on Flagler throughout the night. Tianna Dismuke sparked an early run for the Lakers with strong finishes around the rim, helping build momentum they weren't willing to give back. Building off that momentum, Jasmyn Burts made her presence felt, attacking the paint and creating opportunities with her playmaking and defensive hustle. Etaria Gibbons controlled the paint defensively, altering shots and forcing tough looks inside.
Halftime Score: Lakers 21, Flagler 17
The Lakers began to separate themselves in the second half behind timely perimeter shooting and continued defensive pressure. Nya Young added key points that helped keep the Lakers ahead. Kyla Greene knocked down key three pointers that stretched the floor and shifted momentum in Laker's favor. Paige McDonald made her presence felt on both ends, creating turnovers, crashing the glass, and making smart plays that contributed to the Lakers control late in the game.
