MORROW, Ga. – The Clayton State University men's soccer team hosted the Flagler College Saints in a rematch of the 2024 PBC Tournament Championship game.  On a sweltering Saturday at Laker Field, the Saints shutout the Lakers, 2-0. 
 
The Lakers started off the half strong and controlled the possession throughout the half.  Clayton State, in fact, outshot the Saints, 8-2.  The Lakers also had strong opportunities to score as they attempted four corner kicks. Despite all the chances, Flagler tacked on the match's first goal on a penalty kick in the 23^rd minute making the score, 1-0.  That score held true going into the halftime break.

The second half was a different story for the Lakers.  In the 51^st minute, Clayton State found themselves a man down on a red card.  Despite that, the Lakers outshot the Saints, 12-5, controlled most of the possession, and attempted three corner kicks.  Flagler then extended its lead in the 71^st minute when the offensive attack got in front of the Laker defensive unit and pushed the score to 2-0. 
 
The Lakers saw shots from Gonzalo LaChica, Miguel Torrecillas, Liam Newton-Smith, Asbjorn Saevik, and Garbhan Feeney down the stretch but the Saints ran away with a 2-0 victory over the Lakers.
