AIKEN, S.C. – The Clayton State University men's soccer team fell on the road at USC Aiken, 2-1, in its Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Opener on Wednesday evening. The Pacers came from behind and scored twice in the second half to down the Lakers.
Both teams played evenly in most of the first half as each team scratched across four shots. The Pacers peppered
George Roke with shots in the first few minutes of the match then the tides turned as
Gonzalo LaChica,
Manoel Neto, and
Garbhan Feeney sent in shots for the Lakers. Clayton State opened the scoring. In the 31
st minute, off a pass by LaChica,
Joao Amaral knocked in his second goal of the season making the score, 1-0.
The score held true going into the halftime break.

Both teams came out firing in the early-going of the second half as they saw two shots a piece in the first 10 minutes of the half.
Othmane Chagour and LaChica provided the shots for the Lakers. Later in the half, the Pacers scored the equalizing goal in the 66
th minute and made the score, 1-1. USCA would later take the lead in the 77
th minute, making the score, 2-1.
The Lakers saw late shots from
Camilo Velez and Roke, but none were able to find the back of the net as USCA downed Clayton State 2-1.
