AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) announced on Monday its selections for women's soccer Players of the Year. Clayton State University women's soccer standouts
Adoria Sanders and
Rubie Kelley earned Players of the Week.
Sanders, who earned her first PBC Defender of the Week of the season, had a solid week. Sanders sent in a shot in the 0-0 draw against West Alabama on Friday. Overall, the Laker defensive unit was faced with 21 shots and did not surrender a goal for the second straight match. The Laker defensive unit has only conceded a pair of goals in the first three matches.
Kelley, who was the reigning and defending Keeper of the Week, had another standout performance for the Lakers. In the 0-0 draw against West Alabama, Rubie saved four shots and was faced with 14 shots in only 45 minutes played. Overall, Kelley and fellow keeper
Claire Smith have combined for shutouts in the past two matches and has only conceded two goals as a keeper unit. Kelley leads the team and is top three in the PBC with 15 saves.
