MORROW, Ga. – Former Clayton State men's soccer standout
Alexis Iturria inked a professional contract with Second Division club Paysandu Futbol Club in Uruguay. Iturria becomes the 24
th Laker in program history to sign a professional contract and the first CSU athlete to play in Uruguay.
Iturria had quite a career here in Morrow. From 2020-24, Alexis suited up for 73 matches and notched a program second best 95 points and 37 assists. In addition, Iturria scored 29 goals and added 248 shots. In 2024, Alexis led the team and was third in the nation with 14 assists while in 2023, he led the team with 13 goals and notched 103 shots. In fact, he led the nation that year in shots.
Alexis was no stranger to accolades as he was a three-time All-American and five-time All-Region selection. Last year also saw him become the sixth Laker in program history to be a three-time All-Conference selection. In addition, Alexis got it done in the classroom and was a two-time PBC Presidential Honor Roll selection.
