MORROW, Ga. – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced on Tuesday afternoon its selections for the women's basketball Academic All-District team.  Clayton State University standouts Etaria Gibbons and Jadah Waite received this honor for the first time in their careers.

This is the second straight season that the women's basketball program saw at least one Academic All-District selection.  The program still is seeking its first Academic All-American.  To qualify for such an award, the student-athlete must boast a GPA above a 3.5, play in at least 90% or start in 60% of games played, and must be sophomore standing.

A native of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., this is first such academic honor for Gibbons.  This season saw Etaria finish third on the team with 116 rebounds and led the team with 77 defensive rebounds.  Gibbons also shot a team-best 51% from the field.  A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Waite is a four-time PBC Presidential Honor Roll and a two-time PBC Team of Academic Distinction selection.  This season saw Waite lead the team in several offensive categories including points (328), points a game (13.2), three-pointers made (41), and made field goals (129).  Waite scored her 1,000th career point back on January 18th against Flagler and notched 23 games of double-digit scoring.
