Men's Soccer Erases Two-Goal Deficit in 3-3 Draw

Gonzalo LaChica scores twice for the Lakers

MORROW, Ga. – The Clayton State University men's soccer team hosted Georgia Southwestern University on Senior Day Saturday.  The Lakers came back from two goals down but ended up finishing in a 3-3 draw.

The Hurricanes did not have many rushes in the first half, but they certainly made the best of the ones that they had.  In the 5th minute, GSW took the lead and made the score, 1-0.  The Lakers then started to bring the pressure as Camilo Velez, Manoel Neto, and Joao Amaral all sent in shots, but none found the back of the net.  Later in the half, the Hurricanes found themselves in another attack and extended their lead with a goal in the 32nd minute.  The Lakers found themselves down, 2-0.

Gonzalo LaChica and Amaral sent in shots, but GSW led, 2-0, going into the halftime break.

A couple minutes later, Clayton State took its first lead of the match.  In the 65th minute, Sonny Simpson linked up with LaChica and he fired in his second goal of the match making the score, 3-2.  The Hurricanes then turned up the pressure on Kalle Kuisma and the Laker defensive unit.
