AMERICUS, Ga. – The Clayton State University men's soccer team hit the road and played the Hurricanes of Georgia Southwestern University on Wednesday evening. The Lakers overwhelm the Hurricanes, 4-0.
The Hurricanes fired off three shots in the first 17 minutes of the first half, but the score stood at 0-0.
Othmane Chagour put a shot on goal in the 9
th minute, but it was saved by GSW. Later in the half, the Lakers opened the score. In the 26
th minute, off a pass from
Asbjorn Saevik,
Fabian Wagner sent a ball that found the back of the net for a goal. Clayton State took a 1-0 lead.
That would prove to be the only goal of the half as the Lakers took a 1-0 lead going into the halftime break.

Eric Cruz and
Camilo Velez came out firing for the Lakers in the early going of the second half but the score still read 1-0. Clayton State then extended their lead. In the 59
th minute, off a pass from Velez,
Donghyun Kim came off the bench and scored his first goal of the season and made the score, 2-0. Kim and the Lakers then tacked on another goal in the 71
st minute making the score, 3-0. Kim scored his second goal of the match and Velez picked up his second assist on the match.
The Lakers saw Wagner score his second goal of the match in the 86
th minute and went onto win the match, 4-0.
