MORROW, Ga. – The Clayton State University women's basketball team fell to Augusta University, 67-55, inside the Loch on Wednesday evening.
Clayton State started the first quarter off strong as they jumped out to a 13-4 lead after points by
Nina Blade,
Deborrah Redmon, and
Tamaria White. The Lakers were outscored 11-4 the rest of the quarter and trailed 17-15 going into the second quarter. The two teams went back-and-forth to start the second quarter until Augusta took over with 1:42 left. The Jaguars ended the half on a 7-0 run and led 37-31.

That scoring run for the Jaguars in the final two minutes of the first half proved to set the tone for the second half. Augusta took advantage of a slow start for the Lakers and extended their lead to double-digits at 46-33 with 6:30 left. The Lakers trailed 55-45 going into the fourth quarter. Blade and Redmon scored a portion of the points for the Lakers in the quarter. Augusta kept growing their lead in the fourth quarter and led by as much as 15.
Jada Alston,
Jadah Waite,
Sariya Henry, and
Aaliyah Reid all scored for the Lakers in the fourth quarter, but Augusta won the game, 67-55.
