Men's Basketball Falls to Young Harris Inside the Loch

MORROW, Ga. – The Clayton State University men's basketball team hosted old Peach Belt Conference (PBC) foe Young Harris College on Saturday afternoon.  The Lakers fell to Young Harris, 75-55. 
 
The Mountain Lions controlled the tempo in the early going of the first half.  They tossed in nine of the first 12 points and made the score, 9-3.  DJ Wright hit a three during that stretch.  Wright then continued to be the spark for the Lakers as he scored six of the next eight points and made the score, 14-11.  The Lakers took the lead at 22-21 after timely offense from Jojo Bell and Aaron Pitts.  Clayton State hit a trio of threes during that run.
 
The Mountain Lions pulled away in the final four minutes and led 37-26 at the half.  The Lakers were outscored, 12-2 to end the half.  Wright led the team with 11 points and Bell grabbed a team-high four boards.

The Lakers saw Lay Davis, Dashaun Joseph, and Wright supply the early offense for the Lakers in the second half.  However, Young Harris still led 48-35.  The Lakers got within nine points at 52-43 after Matt Brown and Elijah Dates hit threes.  The Mountain Lions then went on a 15-6 run and extended their lead to 67-49, with under six minutes left in the game.
 
Wright, Dates, and Jamall Clyce all scored points in the final minutes of the game, but Young Harris got the best of the Lakers winning, 75-55.
