Women's Soccer Concludes the Regular Season with a 2-0 Victory over USC Aiken

The Lakers pitch their seventh shutout of the season

AIKEN, S.C. – The Clayton State University women's soccer team picked up a 2-0 victory over USC Aiken in the Regular Season Finale on Saturday Afternoon.  The Lakers pitched their seventh shutout of the season.

The Lakers ambushed the Pacer defense from the onset of the match.  In the eighth minute of the match, Hanna Karlsson crossed a ball in front of the net and Chloe Flannaghan drilled the ball into the back of the net for a goal making the score, 1-0.  That is Chloe's first goal of the season.  The Pacers then had a great chance to score but a shot in the 15th minute went off the cross bar.  The score remained at 1-0.

Leah Agrell, Amiah Sprunger-Hightower, and Tahlia Stangherlin all notched shots down the stretch in the half but the Lakers led, 1-0, going into the halftime break.  The Laker defense did not allow a USC Aiken shot in the final 20 minutes of the half.
