Women's Soccer Suffers Road Loss at North Georgia

DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The Clayton State University women's soccer team played the University of North Georgia at the UNG Soccer Complex on Wednesday evening. 
 
The Lakers were outshot, 8-1, in the first half and drew even with the Nighthawks, 0-0, after the first 45 minutes.  Trinity Chastain made four saves on eight shots faced.  The Lakers saw their only opportunity to score in the 2nd minute of play as Amiah Sprunger-Hightower's shot was saved. 
 
Halftime: Clayton State 0, North Georgia 0
 
The Lakers did not fire off a shot in the second half as the Nighthawk offensive unit pressured Chastain and the defensive unit most of the half.  North Georgia opened its scoring in the 46th minute and made the score, 1-0.  The Nighthawks scored additional goals in the 63rd and 88th minute to defeat Clayton State, 3-0. 
 
QUICK HITS
  • This is the second loss of the season for the Lakers.

The Lakers (7-2-4 (2-2-3 PBC)) host the Sand Sharks of USC Beaufort for Senior Day on Saturday, October 26th.  Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. with Senior Day festivities beginning at 2 p.m.
