YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – The Clayton State University men's basketball team dropped a 75-57 contest to Young Harris College on Saturday Afternoon. Three Lakers scored in double-figures in the loss.
Travis Harper II and
Xavier Joyner kicked off the first half draining threes. The Lakers took a 6-5 lead. Joyner then added a layup and made the score 8-5. The Mountain Lions then went on a 9-0 run and jumped out to a 14-8 lead.
Dudley Blackwell knocked down three free throws to halt the Mountain Lion run. At the score 17-13, Young Harris went onto score the next 10 points and extended its lead to 27-13. The Lakers then started to cut into their deficit. With 4:30 left,
Brian Coffey II converted an and-one opportunity and Joyner rained down a three. Clayton State was still behind 32-22.
Wes Williams scored nine points in the final 2:30 of the half but the Mountain Lions led 40-31 at the half.

Joyner got off to a good start for the Lakers in the second half as she scored the first four points. The Mountain Lions led 44-35. After a Mountain Lion layup, the Lakers scored the next five points making the score 46-40. Harper II nailed a three for the Lakers. At the score 52-44, The Mountain Lions went on a 12-2 run and extended their lead to 64-45.
Williams buried a pair of threes in the final 1:30 minutes of the game but the Mountain Lions took down the Lakers, 75-57.
