ALBANY, Ga. – The #12 Clayton State University men's golf team concluded play at the Georgia Southwestern State Hurricane Invitational on Tuesday afternoon.  The Lakers, as a team, finished in a four-way tie for sixth place out of 17 schools.  #6 North Georgia took home the crown while #8 Nova Southeastern and #10 Georgia Southwestern rounded out the top three. 
 
Leading the charge for the Lakers was Sam Hershoff.  The Laker senior shot a final round 73 and finished tied for 10^th place.  Hershoff finished second in the field with 17 birdies and was tied for fifth after shooting one-under on the par fours.  Following Hershoff was Nico Cabello.  The Laker senior also shot a final round 73 but he finished in tied for 17^th place.  Cabello was one of 12 golfers to card an eagle, which he did on the par-five 15^th hole.  In addition, Nico tied Hershoff as he also shot one-under on the par-fours. 
 
Augusto Oliva then followed behind after carding a final round 70 and finished in tied for 38^th.  Felipe Gomez then followed Oliva in tied for 42^nd place after shooting a final round 73.  Gomez led the field 90-man field in shooting two-under on the par-threes.  Daniel Medellin rounded out the Lakers in the Invitational, placing tied for 49^th after carding a final round score of 75.  Daniel finished in a seven-way tie for seventh place after shooting five-under on the par-fives. 
 
As a team, the Lakers buried 51 birdies, which is good for tied for second, among the 17 team field.  Clayton State finished tied for sixth in the Invitational.
