Brian Coffey II Earns College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Honors

MORROW, Ga. – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced on Tuesday afternoon its selections for the men's basketball Academic All-District team. 
 
Clayton State University men's basketball guard Brian Coffey II earned his first career CSC Academic All-District distinction.  Coffey II is one of four Peach Belt Conference players selected for this prestigious honor. 
 
A native of Snellville, Ga., Coffey II has had a breakout season for the Lakers.  Coffey II is second on the team averaging 12 points a game and is also second with 252 points scored.  Brian is also tied for the team-lead with 61 assists and is tied for third with 17 steals.  In addition, Coffey II scored in double-figures in 16 games including posting 20 or more points in a pair of games.  On February 18th, Brian was two assists shy of his first career double-double with 21 points and eight assists. 
 
In the classroom, Coffey II is working towards Master of Business Administration and was recognized by the National Basketball Coaches Association on their Honors Court last season.  When Brian is not suiting up for the Lakers or isn't studying, he is the Treasurer of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) at Clayton State. 
 
The CSC Academic All-America selections will be released on Tuesday, March 14th at 12 p.m. EST.
