MORROW, Ga. – The Clayton State University men's basketball fell at the Loch to Lander University, 76-63, on Saturday afternoon. Three Lakers scored in double-figures in this contest.
The Lakers and Bearcats played an even beginning to the first half, but the Lakers took the early lead at 12-9.
Travis Harper II, who ended with a career-high 22 points, tallied seven of those points. Then, Lander went on an 11-3 run and made the score, 20-15.
Baqi Lecky nailed a three during that run. Later in the half and with the score deadlocked at 24, the Bearcats tossed in 10 straight points and extended their lead to 34-24.
The Lakers responded with scoring 12 of the final 14 points of the half and took a 36-35 lead going into the halftime break. Harper II converted a four-point play during that stretch.

Lander got off to a great start to start the second half as they dropped in the first nine points and retook the lead at 44-36.
Bryce Weinmunson then broke up that run by draining a three and a jumper, making the score 44-41. The Bearcats continued to control the tempo in the second half. After Weinmunson buried a three making the score, 57-47, Lander went on a 13-2 run and jumped out to a 68-49 lead.
Brian Coffey II and Harper II combined to score the final six points for the Lakers but ultimately Lander proved too much as they defeated Clayton State, 76-63.
