Women's Soccer Draws with Georgia College and State on Wednesday Evening

Nyeemah Lucky notches her first goal of the season

MORROW, Ga. – The Clayton State women's soccer game welcomed the Bobcats of Georgia College and State University to Laker Field on Wednesday evening.  The two teams finished the match in a 1-1 draw.
 
The Bobcats brought the pressure early in the first half as Trinity Chastain made four saves in the first 10 minutes of the match.  The Lakers then took the lead.  In the 18th minute, off a nice one-touch pass by Luise Domnick, Nyeemah Lucky scored her first goal of the season as the Lakers took a 1-0 lead.  Both teams had its opportunities to score but the score remained 1-0, Lakers after the first 45 minutes. 
 
Halftime: Clayton State 1, Georgia College and State 0
 
The Bobcats came out with a full head of steam in the second half as they scored the equalizing goal in the 46th minute making the score, 1-1.  Neither team had opportunities to score until the 74th minute.  In the 74th minute, Amiah Sprunger-Hightower fired in a shot on-frame, but it was saved by the Bobcat keeper.  The best chance for the Bobcats came in the 75th minute.  After a handball was called in the box on the Lakers, the Bobcats were awarded a penalty shot.  The shot taken by Bobcat defender Sydney Charles was stonewalled by Chastain as the two teams still were deadlocked at one.
 
Neither team could push across a goal in the final minutes as the two teams played to a 1-1 draw.
