Laker Men's Soccer Draws with Lynn on Friday Evening

Delgado Miller and Iturria scored the goals for Clayton State

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Clayton State men's soccer team traveled down to Florida for its first road trip of the season as they played the Fighting Knights of Lynn University on Friday.  The Lakers settled for their second straight draw. 
 
The Fighting Knights struck first in the 12th minute as they led 1-0 early in the first half.  The Lakers then scored the equalizer in the 18th minute.  Off a pass by Geo Rios, Vic Delgado Miller scored his second goal of the season as Clayton State tied the match at one.  Youkendjy Pacius led the team with two shots, but the Lakers and the Fighting Knights were tied at one after the first 45 minutes of play. 
 
Clayton State took five corners in the first half as well as outshooting Lynn 5-2.

Lynn started off the second half with a bang with scoring a goal in the 46th minute to go up, 2-1.  The Lakers then responded in the 55th minute when Alexis Iturria put one past the Fighting Knight keeper to deadlock the match at two apiece.  The two teams played an aggressive rest of the second half and combined for five yellow cards.  Both teams had opportunities to break the tie late in the second half.  In the 89th minute, the Lakers were rewarded their 12th corner kick of the match and failed to convert.  The Fighting Knights had the final shot but were unable to break the tie. 
 
The Lakers and Fighting Knights ultimately ended their match in a 2-2 tie.
