Felicia Wallin scored the lone goal for the Lakers

MORROW, Ga. – After a two-hour weather delay, the Clayton State University women's soccer team hosted the Tars of Rollins College at Laker Field on Tuesday evening. The Tars took down the Lakers, 3-1.

The Lakers had a great chance to score first.  In the 12th minute, Nyeemah Lucky had an open goal, after the Rollins' goalkeeper misplayed the ball and missed her shot wide left.  The score remained deadlocked at zero.  The Tars scored the lone goals of the first half in the 23rd minute and again in the 36th minute to lead, 2-0.

The Lakers outshot the Tars 5-4, but were trailing, 2-0, going into the half.  Lucky led the team with three shots.

The Lakers had plenty of opportunities to score throughout the second half. In the 60th minute, Lucky was on a breakaway down the center of the field and sent in a shot that was stopped by the Tar goalkeeper. The Tars added to their lead in the 66th minute and made the score, 3-0.  Shortly after, Amiah Sprunger-Hightower sent in a flurry of shots inside the box, but none could reach the back of the net.  The score still was 3-0, Rollins.  The Lakers finally broke through in the 75th minute.  After a Tar yellow card in the box, Felicia Wallin put the Lakers on the board after sending a penalty shot past the goalkeeper.  The Lakers still trailed 3-1.

Shots by Paige Clemenson, Wallin, and Julia Hasenecz down stretch were not enough as the Tars beat the Lakers, 3-1.
