In the eighth minute of the match, the Wolves had an early breakaway opportunity that resulted in the match's first goal, making the score, 1-0. The Lakers had an opportunity in the 11th minute to score, when Tahlia Stangherlin sent in a shot, but it was snuffed out by the Wolves' keeper.  The match remained 1-0, West Georgia.  West Georgia kept up the pressure in the remaining time in the first half but good goalkeeping by Lisa Kelm kept the Wolves off the scoreboard heading into the half.

The Wolves tacked on their second goal of the match in the 58th minute.  After a Laker yellow card, West Georgia's Hillary Resendiz bent in an excellent free kick to make the score, 2-0.  The Lakers' best chance to get on the board was in the 66th minute when Daniela Gularte sent in a shot off a corner kick, but it was saved by the Wolves' goalkeeper.
