MORROW, Ga. – Head Clayton State University men's basketball coach
Vince Alexander announced on Tuesday that Assistant Coach
Andre Anthony has been named the Top Assistant Coach.
I am extremely excited to promote Andre' into the top assistant spot," said Coach Alexander. "He is one of the hardest working young men I have had play and work with me. His ability to recruit and connect with student athletes is exceptional; we are looking forward to great things from Andre' and what he will do to elevate our program."
Since Joining Alexander's coaching staff in August of 2021, Coach Anthony helped recruit several freshmen and transfers to help rebuild the program. He was responsible for recruiting Saint Bonaventure (NCAA DI) transfer
Jalen Shaw, who was the lone Laker to receive PBC All-Conference recognition in the 2021-22 season.
Before coaching, Coach Anthony played two seasons Community College of Beaver County and then played for Coach Alexander at USC Aiken before finishing up his career at Clarion University. In all, Coach Anthony marked 1,846 points. After college, he played professionally in Italy and played in the ABA for the Steel City Yellow Jackets.
