MORROW, Ga. – The Clayton State women's basketball team will head to Georgia Southwestern for the opening round of the Peach Belt Conference tournament Wednesday.
The Lakers (14-12, 8-10 PBC) enter the tournament as the #6 seed while the Hurricanes (22-5, 14-4 PBC) are the #3 seed.

The two teams will face off for a third time this season as Clayton State will look to avoid a third loss to GSW. On Feb. 2, the Lakers fell 67-60 before losing at home 73-65 on Feb. 23.
All time, Clayton State is 32-16 against Ga. Southwestern have won six of the last 10 meetings.
The Lakers are led by
Audrey McElhaney and
Timi'a Swanson. McElhaney leads the team in both scoring (14.2) and rebounding (7.8) while Swanson is second in both categories.
Swanson leads the team with 2.5 steals per game while
Taniya Patrick is averaging 1.4 blocks a game.
Diamond Swift leads the team with 3.3 assists.
Clayton State will look to slow down Ava Jones who is fourth in the conference with 15.0 points per game. She also is averaging 2.7 assists and 3.0 steals a game.
GSW closed the season with a win at Clayton State after dropping games to Lander and Columbus State. Prior to that, they put together an eight-game win streak.
Wednesday will mark just the fourth time that GSW has appeared in the PBC tournament since joining the conference in 2006-07. Clayton State has appeared in the conference tournament every year since 2001-02.
