MORROW, Ga. – The Clayton State University women's soccer team hosted the Anderson University Trojans out of the Conference Carolinas for Senior Night at Laker Field, on Wednesday. Two second half goals by the Trojans were enough as they defeated the Lakers, 2-0.
It was a quiet first 45 minutes for the Trojans and Lakers. Both teams combined for six shots, three shots per side. The three shots for the Lakers came in the early part of the half as
Amiah Sprunger-Hightower,
Kamila Mroziewicz, and
Felicia Wallin all notched shots.
Trinity Chastain made a pair of saves as both teams did not find the back of the net in the first half.
Halftime: Clayton State 0, Anderson 0
That all changed in the second half as the Trojans marked their first goal in the 55
th minute. Anderson then extended their lead in the 72
nd minute as they doubled up the Lakers, 2-0.
Reia Henry, Sprunger-Hightower, and
Frederikke Troldborg each fired in shots in the closing minutes of the match.
The Lakers concluded their home portion of the schedule on the wrong end of a 2-0 score.
