Lakers Edged by Young Harris, 2-1, on Saturday Afternoon

Kamila Mroziewicz knocked in her first goal of the season

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – The Clayton State women's soccer team traveled up north to Young Harris College for a critical Peach Belt Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.  The Mountain Lions took down the Lakers, 2-1. 
 
The Lakers used shots from Frederrike Troldborg and Amiah Sprunger-Hightower early in the first half.  Then, the Mountain Lions took the lead with a goal at the 32nd minute and make the score, 1-0.  The Lakers evened the match, late in the half.  After a foul just outside the box, Felicia Wallin sent in a free kick and Kamila Mroziewicz fired in her first goal of the season.  The goal at the 44th minute made the score, 1-1, going into the break.

In the second half, the Mountain Lions put some early pressure on the Laker keeper Trinity Chastain.  Chastain faced four shots in the first 10 minutes, but one resulted in a goal in the 55th minute.  Young Harris took the lead, 2-1.   
 
Julia Hasenecz, Sprunger-Hightower, and Nyeemah Lucky all notched shots in the second half but that ultimately not enough as the Lakers fell to the Mountain Lions, 2-1.
