MORROW, Ga. – The Clayton State men's and women's basketball teams will hit the road on Saturday for a conference doubleheader at Lander University.

here. Tipoff for the women's game is set for 1:30 p.m. while the men follow after.
It won't be long until the two schools matchup again as Clayton State plays hosts on Monday, Jan. 24.
The men's team is coming off back-to-back losses against Columbus State and North Georgia and sits at 6-6 for the season.
The Lakers led at halftime but were outscored in the second and ended up losing by six. With the loss, Clayton State sits eighth in the conference while Lander is seventh in the standings. The Bearcats are 7-6 for the season and sit at 2-2 in league play.
Lander is coming off an 88-81 win over No. 12 Augusta University on Wednesday.
Ricardo Lynch leads the Lakers with 14.6 points per game while
Jalen Shaw is averaging 14.4 points.
Kobie Johnson is averaging 10.6 points, 3.0 assists and 1.2 steals.
For Lander, Deandre Robinson leads the team with 12.8 points. Two other Bearcats are scoring in double figures.
The women's team, plagued by injuries and COVID protocols, has opened conference play with three-straight losses.
On Wednesday, the Lakers fell to No. 11 North Georgia, 70-61, after leading by two at halftime. Clayton State has another tough test on Saturday as Lander is ranked No. 10 in the latest WBCA poll.
The Bearcats are 11-2 for the year and sit at 3-1 in conference play.
Audrey McElhaney continues to lead the team with 17.1 points and 7.8 rebounds a game. Against UNG, she pulled down 18 rebounds to set a career-best mark.
Lander is led by Zamiya Passmore and Makaila Cangé who are both scoring over 20 points per game. Cangé leads the team with 9.8 rebounds while Passmore has 5.6 assists and 2.3 steals per game.
