MORROW, Ga. – The Clayton State men's and women's basketball teams are set to host North Georgia on Wednesday for their Peach Belt Conference home opener.
The women will play first in the doubleheader as the men follow after. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.

The women are coming off back-to-back conference losses to Young Harris and Columbus State and sit at 6-4, 0-2 PBC for the season. Against YHC, the Lakers had only five players available and managed to get to overtime but lost in the final minutes.
Clayton State then got four players back Saturday morning but fell to Columbus State by 10 points.
Despite the 0-2 record,
Audrey McElhaney was named PBC Player of the Week for the second time this season after she averaged 32.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. She is fourth in the conference in scoring with 17.9 points a game and is second on the team with 6.8 rebounds per game.
North Georgia comes into the match ranked No. 13 in the WBCA Poll (Jan. 4). The Nighthawks are 4-0 in the conference and just recently defeated No. 3 Lander on Saturday.
The Lakers have a slight edge in the head-to-head matchup, winning 26 of the 48 matchups.
Julianna Sutton leads UNG with 15.5 points and 8.1 rebounds a game.
The men's basketball team opened their conference schedule with a win over Young Harris and a loss to Columbus State. Against YHC, the Lakers knocked down 17 3-pointers in the win, the most since the 2010-11 season.
They sit at 6-5 on the season and will look to get back to their winning ways against the 9-4, 2-2 Nighthawks.
Jalen Shaw and
Ricardo Lynch lead the Lakers with 14.7 and 14.6 scoring averages, respectively. Shaw is also pulling down 7.5 rebounds and has 2.4 assists and 1.3 blocks per game.
UNG is led by Frank Champion who is averaging 16.8 points and 8.8 rebounds per game.
