MORROW, Ga. – The Clayton State men's soccer team suffered a 2-1 defeat Friday night to Auburn Montgomery.
The Lakers (1-2-1) struck first in the 15th minute after
Langston Blackstock scored his third goal of the season. A
Geo Rios corner kick found an open
Josh Rodgers who then redirected it to Blackstock who one-timed it for the opening goal of the game.
The Lakers held the lead until the 32nd minute after an own goal off a corner kick gave the Warhawks (2-1-0) their first score of the game.
Less than 10 minutes later, AUM scored what would be the game winner after Elijah Saint-Marc found Juan del Castillo for the goal.
The second half was filled with intensity as both teams had chances, but the score remained unchanged.
AUM had 11 shots to Clayton State's nine. Each team had four saves and three corner kicks.
