MORROW, Ga. -- The Clayton State Department of Athletics announced it has recorded its seventh consecutive semester with a 3.0 or higher GPA.
Six programs also posted a team GPA of 3.0 or higher including men's and women's soccer, men's golf, men's indoor and outdoor track & field and men's cross country.
On the women's side, women's soccer led the way with a 3.47 team GPA while men's soccer posted a 3.33 GPA, marking the highest of the men's teams.
Eleven student-athletes recorded a perfect 4.0 GPA while 46 student-athletes had a 3.5 GPA or higher.
Eighty-three student-athletes had a 3.0 or higher GPA. Both the 3.5 and 3.0 marks bested the 2021 spring semester.
In early December, Clayton State Athletics recognized 10 fall graduates. On Thursday,
Geo Rios of the men's soccer team was named a Scholar All-American by the United Soccer Coaches while
Theo Blachon was named a Scholar All-Region selection. The men's soccer team also had
Lewis Green named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team.
Isabel Massa, captain of the women's soccer team, earned the women's soccer Elite 16 Award, which was given by the Peach Belt Conference.
