MORROW, Ga. – Clayton State Athletics has announced Wes Williams and Taniya Patrick as this week's Drury Inn & Suites Student-Athletes of the Week. 
 
Williams led the Lakers to a win in the team's only action last week as men's basketball took down West Ga. 67-64. The women dropped both matchups last week to No. 19 Carson-Newman and Belmont Abbey. Both teams, along with Clayton State, were regionally ranked.

Taniya Patrick (Jr.) – Women's Basketball (Baltimore, Md. / St. Frances Aca. / Webber Intl.)
- Started both games and averaged 32.5 minutes
- Against Belmont Abbey, registered a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds
- Added two assists and two blocks
- In a loss to No. 19 Carson-Newman, had 11 points, four steals and three rebounds
- Is third on the team with 8.8 points per game and second with 6.3 rebounds per game
- Leads the team with a 56.4 FG percentage

Wes Williams (So.) – Men's Basketball (Columbus, Ohio / Columbus South / Saint Leo)
- Scored a season-high 18 points as the Lakers won by three points at West Ga.
- Hit the go-ahead three with 40 seconds left to put the Lakers up 66-64
- Then came up with the steal on the ensuing UWG possession to seal the game
- Played 27 minutes and shot 6-of-8 from 3-point range
- Added four rebounds, one assist and one steal
- Sixth on the team with 9.7 points per game
- In the Lakers three wins, has scored over 12 points
