EVANS, Ga. – Goals by Niall Swan and Langston Blackstock gave the Clayton State men's soccer team a 2-0 win over Lander Friday afternoon, earning them a spot in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament Championship Game.

With the win, the Lakers will face No. 1 Young Harris on Sunday. The Mountain Lions won 4-0 over Flagler in the other semifinal matchup on Friday.

Sunday's game will be played at 12:00 p.m. at Blanchard Woods Park in Evans, Ga. Young Harris got the best of the Lakers in the previous two games this season. Tickets for the championship can be found here.

Lander and Clayton State battled to a 0-0 draw in the opening half despite several chances by the Lakers, the best of which came in the third minute.

After a Lander foul inside the box, Clayton State was awarded a penalty kick. Blackstock's ensuing try was saved.

The score remained 0-0 until Swan found the back of the net for the gamewinner in the 71st minute. After receiving a monster pass from Alexis Iturria, Geo Rios danced around his defender before finding a streaking Swan who beat the keeper for the score.

Not even seven minutes later, Iturria recorded an assist after chipping the ball to Blackstock who then, similar to Swan, beat the keeper to the left and burying the goal in the back of the net.

Lander could only muster two shots after the second goal, both off target.

Clayton State outshot Lander 10-8. Theo Blachon had two saves in the shutout.

Only 13 players saw the field for the Lakers with eight playing full time. Only three Lander players played the full 90.
