GREENWOOD, Ind. -- Clayton State Athletics extended its College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District streak going on Thursday as Lewis Green of the men's soccer program received recognition. 
 
In his first season of being eligible, Green becomes just the fifth men's soccer student-athlete and the 27th Laker to earn the award. He is the 19th selection since 2014-15. 

To be eligible for Academic All-District consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.

Green is now eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America honors which will be announced on Thursday, December 9. Clayton State has five all-time Academic All-America selections. Tim Neusesser represented the men's soccer program in 2019 when he earned Academic All-America honors.

A marketing major, Green has one goal and four assists while anchoring a defense that is allowing just under two goals per game. He scored his only goal of the season in 2-2 draw against Lees-McRae to open the season and had assists against USC Aiken, North Georgia (twice), and Lander. 

He took nine shots with seven being on goal. Green has started 16 games while appearing in all 17 and is sixth on the team in minutes played (1295).
