AMERICUS, Ga. – Reia Henry scored two goals as the Clayton State
women's soccer team picked up a 3-1 win over Peach Belt Conference foe Georgia Southwestern Saturday evening.
Trailing 1-0 in the first half, Henry tied the match in the 36th minute to send the Lakers into halftime with a 1-1 score. In the last three games, Henry has scored six goals. In her first 12 career games, dating back to last season, she was held scoreless.
With the win, the Lakers are now tied with Lander and Flagler for third place in the PBC with nine points.
The game remained tied at 1-1 before Henry found the back of the net again for the gamewinner in the 79th minute.
Clayton State outshot GSW 8-2 and held a 4-0 corner kick advantage.
Valeria Gasca iced the game in the 88th minute with her first career goal to put the game away 3-1.
The Lakers improved to 15-0 all-time over the Hurricanes.
