DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The Clayton State men's soccer team used three different goal scorers to take down North Georiga 3-1 Saturday night in a Peach Belt Conference showdown.
The Lakers earned the season sweep over the Night Hawks and improved to 24-4-3 all-time against the instate-rival.
Isaac Pimenta opened the scoring in the 16th minute with an assist from
Vic Delgado Miller to put the Lakers ahead 1-0.
The score remained such for just seven minutes as
Geo Rios scored his fifth goal of the season in the 23rd minute to put the Lakers ahead 2-0 midway through the first half. Rios received assists from
Brad Kay and
Lewis Green.
With the win, Clayton State jumps to second in the PBC standings with 13 points.
UNG attempted to get back in the match with a goal in the 69th minute, but the Lakers put the game out of reach with an
Alexis Iturria goal 12 minutes later.
Theo Blachon made two saves in the win. Kay led all players with three shots.
