MORROW, Ga. – In conjunction with iTHINK Financial, the Clayton State Department of Athletics has announced its Community Service Project of the Month for September 2021.
On September 24, the women's basketball team partnered with Habitat for Humanity and helped with construction of a family home in nearby Stockbridge, Ga.
The student-athletes, along with their coaches, helped cut wood, install a deck, painted fixtures around the home and cleaned the inside for a full day's work.
"Engaging in community service projects, such as this, gives our student-athletes an opportunity to give back to the community," assistant women's basketball coach
Brittany Hall '12 said. "It is important that we show continued support to the community, as we've been shown the same support in the past."
"Through our efforts, we hope to create a positive impact within the community while helping others."
iTHNINK Financial proudly serves as the title sponsor for Clayton State Athletics' monthly community service project and, through that partnership, helps support the many endeavors to enhance the Laker student-athlete experience.
About iTHINK Financial:
In 1969, a group of IBM employees got together (each giving $0.25) to form iTHINK Financial (formerly known as IBMSECU). Who would have thought that a set of quarters in 1969 would turn into one of the nation's largest credit unions with more than $1.5 billion in assets and 95,000 members across the country? In 2019, the credit union celebrated its 50th Anniversary.
