YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – The Clayton State men's soccer team dropped it regular-season finale, 5-1, at No. 3 Young Harris Saturday night.
Despite the loss, the Lakers secured the second seed in the Peach Belt Conference tournament as Lander upended Flagler 3-1.
Clayton State will have a bye for the quarterfinal round of the conference tournament and will make the trip to Blanchard Woods Park in Evans Ga. on Nov. 12.
The Mountain Lions wasted no time in Saturday's match, pulling ahead 2-0 with a pair of goals in the fifth minute. They extended their lead to 3-0 in the 35th minute and held it through halftime.
Langston Blackstock put the Lakers on the board in the 52nd minute after converting a penalty kick, but Young Harris added two more goals to close out the game.
COMING UP:
- The Lakers return to the pitch on Nov. 12 for the semifinal round of the PBC tournament.
