Dear Laker Nation,
I hope this message finds you well during these unprecedented times. Clayton State Athletics has been working tireless to adjust our daily operations to provide a safe and healthy environment during the COVID-19 pandemic, not only for our student-athletes and staff, but for our fans and supporters as well.
We are excited to share that after months of preparation, our department will be opening our doors back up to our student-athletes at the beginning of August and to our fans soon after for the start of soccer season.
Our department has implemented new game day and facility procedures to ensure your safety and well-being while on campus, without taking away from what you love most about attending our home athletics contests. We have adopted a contact free admissions process, added hand sanitizer stations upon entry, accounted for distancing in our stands and various other changes all aimed at keeping you safe.
In addition to our game day adjustments, our department is in constant communication with our staff and student-athletes regarding COVID-19 procedures. We have implemented limited facility access, weekly screenings for student-athletes, COVID-19 signage throughout all athletics facilities and seating reductions to our lounge areas and classrooms.
Although new limitations and cautions are in place, the experience our student-athletes have is still of high priority. Clayton State Athletics will continue to excel during the 2020-21 academic year in the areas of academic excellence, community engagement and competitive success. Our student-athletes and staff are resilient, and we will not let the COVID-19 virus define our experience or limit our capabilities.
We will be sure to provide you with updates regarding game days, facility access and general COVID-19 changes as new information is made available. We appreciate your patience and understanding during these unprecedented times.
