MORROW, Ga. – Following three straight home contests Clayton State (12-9, 8-5 PBC) women's basketball hits the road for the first time in nearly two weeks at Georgia College (5-16, 2-11 PBC) on Saturday, February 8. Tip-off is set for 1:30 p.m. in Milledgeville, Georgia.
Â
Clayton StateÂ
holds a 35-22 lead in the all-time series, dating back to the first meeting on January 27, 1992. The series dates back to the first season of Laker women's basketball and is the most prevalent matchup in program history with 57 all-time meetings. The clubs have also met at least once in 30 of the last 31 years, with the lone exception being the 1992-93 campaign.
Â
Since GC won 18 of the first 23 meetings through February 28, 2004, the Lakers have held a 29-4 streak that includes a 15 game win streak dating from February 6, 2010 through February 18, 2017. Â
Â
Georgia College snapped that streak on January 10, 2018 with a 69-67 victory in Milledgeville, Georgia before Clayton State began a new streak with a 55-52 win on February 7 of that year at The Loch. Last season they extended the new stretch to three in a row with a 70-56 victory on January 16 in Morrow and a 63-48 decision on the road on February 13, 2019. Their 67-42 win on December 21, 2019 earlier this season made it four in a row.
