GAINESVILLE, Ga. – The Clayton State men's golf team wrapped its 2020 fall schedule tied for 14th place in the Seventh Annual UNG Fall Invitational on Tuesday.
The Lakers shot 6-over-par 292 on the final day of the tournament and tied Lander University for 14th out of 16 teams. The Clayton State finished with a final 54-hole score of 17-over 881.
Fellow Peach Belt Conference school USC-Aiken won the event by seven strokes over Piedmont (Division III) and Lincoln Memorial, who tied for second, both at 20-under.
Piedmont's Matthew Leemann won the event outright with a 12-under 204 against the field of 92 individuals.
Senior
Augusto Oliva (Buenos Aires, Argentina) shot 1-under 71 in his final round to finish the tournament tied for 17th at 3-under 213.
Sophomore
Javier Gonzalez (San Jose del Cabo, Mexico) finished 2-over for the day and wound up T45 with a 4-over 220.
Griffin Autry (Covington, Ga.) recorded his first collegiate eagle and under-par round (71) on Tuesday. The freshman was T54 with a 6-over 222.
Senior
Joseph Kim (Martinez, Ga.) was 6-over to close out his tournament in T72 while senior
Ivan Emiliano (Cabo San Lucas, Mexico) also shot a 6-over 78. Emiliano finished T86.
The Lakers closed out their fall season on Tuesday. A spring schedule will be added to claytonstatesports.com once finalized.
