Three Game Road Trip Kicks Off as Clayton State Heads to Georgia Southwestern

MORROW, Ga. – Clayton State (8-5, 4-1 PBC) women's basketball begins a three-game road trip over the course of six days as they travel to Georgia Southwestern (4-7, 0-5 PBC) on Wednesday, January 15. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. in Americus, Georgia.
 
Against the Hurricanes, the Lakers lead the all-time series 29-13 dating back to the first meeting on January 4, 1992 during the first season of women's basketball. After going 4-11 over the first 15 meetings, Clayton State proceeded to win the next 18 from January 3, 2007 through February 7, 2015.
 
The Hurricanes snapped that streak with a 71-59 victory in Americus, Georgia on January 27, 2016 before the Lakers rebounded with a 68-47 decision at The Loch on February 6 of that year. Clayton State then stretched it to a three-game streak, winning 80-53 at the Storm Dome on January 25, 2017 and again on February 11, 2017 by a 63-54 score.
 
The Hurricanes returned with a 58-52 victory in Americus on January 24, 2018 before the Lakers started a new stretch via an 84-55 victory on February 21, 2018 and a 78-63 decision on January 30, 2019, both at The Loch. Most recently that run has been extended to three in a row following a 74-56 decision at the Storm Dome on February 27, 2019.
