MORROW, Ga. – Clayton State (2-10, 0-5 PBC) men's basketball looks to resume what has been a dominant performance against Georgia Southwestern (6-5, 1-4 PBC) over the past four years as they travel to Americus, Georgia on Wednesday, January 15. Tip-off is set for approximately 7:30 p.m. following the women's contest.
Â
The Lakers trail theÂ
all-time series 22-19Â dating back to the first meeting on January 26, 1991 when both schools were members of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Georgia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GIAC).
Â
The Hurricanes won 12 of the first 13 meetings through February 19, 1996 but since then Clayton State has gone 18-10 in the series. With a buzzer beating 63-61 victory on February 21, 2018 and a 98-75 final on January 30, 2019, both at The Loch, they extended to a seven-game winning streak to mark their longest in series history. That stretch was snapped by a 78-68 loss at the Storm Dome on February 27, 2019.
