COLUMBUS, Ga. – Clayton State men's golf closed out the AFLAC/Cougar Invitational in 17
th on Tuesday, September 24 after shooting a 291-304-301-896.
Senior
Joseph Kim (Martinez, Ga.) finished tied for 44
th out of 89 golfers with a 70-74-76-220 to lead the Lakers for a second consecutive day with junior
Raul Carbonell (Panama City, Panama) coming in in a tie for 70
th (75-78-73-226).
Sophomore
Nico Cabello (Santiago, Chile) tied for 75
th following rounds of 73-76-78-227 and sophomores
Javier Gonzalez (San Jose Del Cabo, Mexico) and
Augusto Oliva (Buenos Aires, Argentina) rounded out Clayton State's performers in a tie for 80
th. Gonzalez shot a 73-77-78-228 while Oliva was at 77-77-74-228.
Georgia Southwestern (848) won the tournament in a playoff on Hole No. 10 over No. 4 Florida Southern (848) while No. 1 Lynn (566), No. 12 Saint Leo (852) and No. 21 Columbus State (853) and Lee (853) closed out the top five.
The Lakers will be right back in action as they take to the course for the third straight week when they head to the Sixth Annual UNG Fall Invitational. Hosted by North Georgia in Dahlonega, Georgia, that tournament will run from Monday, September 30 through October 1.
