MORROW, Ga. – Clayton State (18-8, 14-6 PBC) women's basketball hits the road one last time in the regular season as they head to Georgia Southwestern (8-18, 5-15 PBC) in Peach Belt Conference action on Wednesday, February 27. Game time is set for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off in Americus, Georgia.

They currently hold down the No. 4 spot in the PBC standings and trail Flagler (15-5) for the No. 3 position by just a game. Should the clubs finish tied, the Lakers will have the advantage by virtue of a sweep of the season series. The Saints head to Columbus State (11-9) tomorrow before finishing up at home against UNC Pembroke (7-13). Clayton State meanwhile will have the Cougars to close out the regular season this coming Saturday.
 
Against the Hurricanes, the Lakers lead the all-time series 28-13 dating back to the first meeting on January 4, 1992 during the first season of women's basketball. After going 4-11 over the first 15 meetings, Clayton State proceeded to win the next 18 from January 3, 2007 through February 7, 2015.
 
The Hurricanes snapped that streak with a 71-59 victory in Americus, Georgia on January 27, 2016 before the Lakers rebounded with a 68-47 decision at The Loch on February 6 of that year. Clayton State then stretched it to a three-game streak, winning 80-53 at the Storm Dome on January 25, 2017 and again on February 11, 2017 by a 63-54 score.
 
The Hurricanes returned with a 58-52 victory in Americus on January 24, 2018 before the Lakers started a new stretch via an 84-55 victory on February 21, 2018 and a 78-63 decision on January 30, 2019, both at The Loch.
