MORROW, Ga. – In an ongoing effort to be transparent in terms of what student-athletes should expect when they become part of the Laker family, Clayton State Athletics has announced the creation of the Student-Athlete Pledge.
Â
Developed through a collaborative effort of all members of Laker Athletics, the document details exactly what student-athletes should expect from the three key areas of coaches, administration and support staff.
Â
Under coaches, a sampling of these include impactful leadership, commitment, consistency, honesty and competitiveness while proactive leadership, being a good listener, professionalism, serving as a sounding board and trusting that staff has their best interests at heart are some of the hallmarks of the administration.
Â
Support staff is marked by traits such as taking pride in the Department, contributing to a great overall student-athlete experience, empathy, unconditional support and positive encouragement.
Â
"Our department worked collectively to shape the service standards and expectations our student-athletes can expect from our athletics staff," said Director of Athletics
Ryan Erlacher. "As a program, we strive to serve our student-athletes to the best of our ability and this pledge will allow us to emphasize our commitment to service excellence and demonstrate the investment we are making into the overall experience our student-athletes have at Clayton State."
