MORROW, Ga. – One game shy of equaling the best start in program history, Clayton State (3-0-2, 1-0-0 PBC) faces a stiff challenge as they host a solid Flagler (3-2-0, 1-1-0 PBC) team on Saturday, September 22. Game time is set for 1 p.m. at Laker Field.
 
All-time Clayton State is 5-3-2 against Flagler, dating to the first meeting on October 26, 1996. Following that 1-1 tie in St. Augustine, Florida, the Saints would notch a 2-1 victory on their home field in the next meeting – 13 years later on September 26, 2009. Since then the teams have met each year as members of the PBC with the Lakers holding a 5-2-1 advantage over that time.
 
All five wins in the series history have been by shutout, including four in a row from September 21, 2013 through October 30, 2016. Most recently No. 17 Flagler posted a 3-0 victory, their first shutout win in series history.
 
The Lakers are looking to run their undefeated streak to start the season to six games. If they are able to accomplish that feat it would be only the second time that that has happened, joining the 2002 squad. The latter dropped their seventh game.
