No. 20 Clayton State Set for Rematch With No. 3 Lincoln Memorial at SAC/PBC Challenge

MORROW, Ga. – Pulling no punches, two-time defending Peach Belt Conference Regular Season Champion No. 20 Clayton State (0-0, 0-0 PBC) will open the 2018-19 season in full as they face a field that includes a familiar foe in the SAC/PBC Challenge from November 9-10 in Aiken, South Carolina.

The Lakers will open with a rematch with No. 3 Lincoln Memorial (0-0, 0-0 SAC) on Friday, November 9 at 7:30 p.m. before taking on Tusculum (6-21) at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 10. The LMU game will represent just the second time the teams have meet, but the second straight game against them for Clayton State.

Last season, while ranked No. 1, the Railsplitters, notched an 87-61 decision in the NCAA Division II Southeast Region Semifinals on March 11. In terms of Tusculum, the Lakers haven't played them much more as they hold a 2-0 advantage dating back to a 66-63 win on November 30, 1996. The only other meeting was a 70-58 victory on November 12, 2010.

Additionally, Clayton State is coming off a narrow 81-78 exhibition loss at Division I Kennesaw State on November 1. That game would see the club lead by two with 20 seconds remaining before the Owls narrowly escaped.

Coverage of the games will be available on both live stats and live video. Full coverage of both games can be found on www.ClaytonStateSports.com.
