BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Picking up right where she left off last season, junior
Nia Elmore (Hinesville, Ga.) broke a program record for the 15
th time as Clayton State women's indoor track & field opened at the BSC Panther Indoor Icebreaker on Friday, November 30. As a team they finished tied for 21
st.

Elmore delivered another stellar performance, this time shattering her 200-meter program record with a time of 25.61. That time surpassed her previous mark of 25.94 set at the Emory CrossPlex Invitational on January 21, 2018 and was good enough for an 11-of-74 finish. In addition to being her 15
th overall program record, it is her eighth during indoor competition.

She also delivered an impressive 17-of-71 outing in the 60-meters, registering a time of 7.83 and was part of a 4x400-meter relay that was 10-of-21 with a personal best time of 4:10.38. In the latter, she was joined by junior
Jasmine Radford (Lawrenceville, Ga.), sophomore
Chaviya Jackson (Albany, Ga.) and senior
Sierra Glenn (Riverdale, Ga.).

Radford added a PR of 1:00.71 in the 400-meters, finishing 21-of-53, while Jackson was 25
th in that event with a mark of 1:01.69. Glenn added a 37-of-74 outing in the 200-meters with a time of 26.73 and freshman
Kiara Green (Ty Ty, Ga.) was 10-of-30 in the shotput (11.11m). Sophomore
Corta'Nasha Mutcherson (Savannah, Ga.) capped things off with an 18-of-53 performance in the 400-meters (1:00.33).

Tulane won the meet with 147 points, followed by Troy (89), Alabama State (50), Central Arkansas (50) and UAB (40).

After returning to competition, the Lakers will now be off until the Emory CrossPlex Invitational on January 20, 2019. That meet will also take place at the same facility in Birmingham, Alabama.
