Trip to Shorter Continues Non-Conference Slate for Clayton State

MORROW, Ga. – After essentially becoming an honorary member of the South Atlantic Conference with four straight games against teams from that league, Clayton State (2-2, 0-0 PBC) women's basketball continues a three-game road swing, but this time at Gulf South Conference member Shorter (1-3, 0-0 GSC) on Tuesday, November 27. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m. in Rome, Georgia.

In a series that dates back to the very first season of women's basketball at Clayton State, the Lakers trail Shorter 9-8 but it's also a series that featured a nearly 20-year gap. Prior to last season's 66-48 Laker victory at The Loch on November 27, 2017, the teams had not met since a 65-46 Hawks victory in Morrow on November 18, 1998.

Neither team has won more than three in a row over the course of the series with SU accomplishing that from February 15, 1993 through February 16, 1994. Clayton State won back-to-back games on February 12, 1992 (58-55) and January 6, 1993 (58-56) and again on December 10, 1997 (61-55) and January 5, 1998 (51-38). Overall the Hawks hold an 8-4 advantage when playing in Rome.

Coverage of the game will be available on live stats but a live video link has not yet been made available. All coverage will be available on www.ClaytonStateSports.com with a full recap following the contest.
