MORROW, Ga. – Sitting in a three way tie for first place in the Peach Belt Conference, Clayton State (6-3, 4-1 PBC) travels to second place Francis Marion (8-2, 3-2 PBC) for a key league contest on Saturday, January 6. Game time is set for approximately 3:30 p.m. following the women's contest.
 
Clayton State is 17-9 all-time against the Patriots, dating to the first meeting on November 25, 1994 at The Loch. The Lakers have posted two separate five game winning streaks, first from January 6, 2001 through March 1, 2003 and again from January 24, 2009 through January 7, 2012.
 
FMU has claimed three of the last five meetings, including back-to-back games on January 21, 2013 (70-61) and January 20, 2014 (71-68). Clayton State notched a 78-75 decision on December 20, 2014 and an 81-70 victory on December 19, 2015 while the Patriots picked up an 82-79 decision in Florence on January 7, 2017 in the most recent meeting.
