SAVANNAH, Ga. – Taking on the defending national champions and No. 1 ranked team in the country on the road, Clayton State (0-4, 0-2 PBC) could not pull off the upset as Armstrong State (9-1, 4-0 PBC) notched a 9-0 decision in an NCAA Division II women's tennis match on Saturday, March 4.
 
ASU would notch identical 8-0 decisions in No. 1 and No. 2 doubles while freshmen Brittney Canty (Powder Springs, Ga.) and Laura Toscan (Balneario Camboriu, Brazil) fell 8-1 at the third spot.
 
The Pirates would secure the match with victories at the No. 5 and No. 3 positions, respectively, in singles play  while senior Darina Drozdova (St. Petersburg, Russia) had the closet head-to-head match. Playing at the second position, she fell 6-2, 6-1 to Paula Boixader Roca.
 
The Lakers are right back in action tomorrow, Sunday, March 5 when they head to No. 12 Flagler for another Peach Belt Conference contest. First serve is set for 10 a.m. in St. Augustine, Fla.
